In 2 x 4 hours (Part I), you learn the basics of the different construction techniques: pinch cup, coil technique, building with clay strips and clay slabs, modelling technique for small figure design as well as surface design with organic structures, textured decor, and ceramic colors.

In the second part you will get to know the drying and firing procedures.
What is biscuit-, raw-, or smoke firing?
How is the kiln set?
Glaze- or high temperature firing.
Tools, materials, equipment, work safety and environment.

Under direction in the McKiev Studio, you will try out the different techniques, gain insight into the working procedures of a ceramic workshop and receive a handout for read ups.
The course is completed with a participation certificate.
